From blog April 5, 2006

The wind has died down and the weather is more spring-like. 60 during the day and 40 at night. In the last few days, I’ve seen that the osprey nest on the power tower is being rebuilt. I believe the power tower nest platform was bare all last year. The current nest looks to be about 30% done.

I’ve also seen plenty of Canada geese fluffing around the river bank. But no chicks just yet. The hightlight has been seeing another kingfisher and a goldfinch. I have to think that the goldfinches are thick on Sauvie’s Island right now. That would be a fun daytrip.

There have been very few bugs so far this year.

The leaves are just filling in on the trees by the river bank. I’ll bet in another few days I won’t be able to see the houseboats as I ride by on the bike path.
