I got a computer with windows 8 pre-installed. The bios indicates that it has UEFI but not secure boot.
Installing Ubuntu for dual boot was pretty easy.
I used Windows 8 to shrink the existing partition and then booted from a LiveUSB 13.04 64bit. The install was smooth.
But after the install, it always booted straight into Windows.
I installed EasyBCD to manipulate the windows boot options and get it to hand off to the ubuntu partition, but that resulted in a grub> prompt.
