Weasel is moving from Hardy (8.04) to Intrepid (8.10).
I'm following the instructions here: http://www.ubuntu.com/getubuntu/upgrading
Download
The upgrade initially predicts 1400 packages to change and 2 hours and 30 minutes of downloading. Downloading took less than an hour.
Install packages
- configure slapd password
- pam library upgrade service restart
- replace cupsd.conf? Yes
- replace /etc/amavis/conf.d/05-node_id (set hostname)
- replace dhclient.conf? Yes
- retain smb.conf? Yes
- replace /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades? Yes
- replace /etc/ufw/sysctl.conf? (turns off IP_forwarding) Yes
- replace /etc/default/ufw? Yes
- retain ufw/before.rules? Yes
- retain php.ini? Yes
- replace /etc/default/saslauthd? No
- replace /etc/hobbit/hobbitserver.cfg? No
- replace /etc/init.d/hobbit? Yes
- replace /etc/syslog.conf? Yes
- replace /etc/courier/imapd-ssl? Yes
- replace /etc/lvm/lvm.conf? (turns down logging) Yes
- remove 85 obsolete packages
Restart
- mediawiki search was broken, had to run update.php
