Autocorrect is extra annoying for people with non-standard vocabulary. Any odd acronyms or inside jokes are generally squashed by autocorrect. And if you are a slow typer, it is frustrating enough to deal with a tiny keyboard WITHOUT something screwing up your sentences.
On Android 4.1.2 using Google Swype:
Visit Settings > Language & Input
Click the gear next to Swype
Click Preferences > Word suggestion
Disable Auto-correction
Test by trying say a nonsense word in a google hangout. If your nonsense word appears verbatim instead of being switched with a valid word, the test passes.
