Upgrade to Intrepid

Weasel is moving from Hardy (8.04) to Intrepid (8.10).

Download

The upgrade initially predicts 1400 packages to change and 2 hours and 30 minutes of downloading. Downloading took less than an hour.

Install packages

• configure slapd password
• pam library upgrade service restart
• replace cupsd.conf? Yes
• replace /etc/amavis/conf.d/05-node_id (set hostname)
• replace dhclient.conf? Yes
• retain smb.conf? Yes
• replace /etc/update-manager/release-upgrades? Yes
• replace /etc/ufw/sysctl.conf? (turns off IP_forwarding) Yes
• replace /etc/default/ufw? Yes
• retain ufw/before.rules? Yes
• retain php.ini? Yes
• replace /etc/default/saslauthd? No
• replace /etc/hobbit/hobbitserver.cfg? No
• replace /etc/init.d/hobbit? Yes
• replace /etc/syslog.conf? Yes
• replace /etc/courier/imapd-ssl? Yes
• replace /etc/lvm/lvm.conf? (turns down logging) Yes

• remove 85 obsolete packages

Restart

• mediawiki search was broken, had to run update.php
